This type of lift is an alternative to a ramp and it has a few advantages over ramps:

  • It is usually less expensive
  • It takes up much less room - our VPL's can lift to a maximum of 14 feet. According to the Building Code, a ramp built to get the user to the same height would have to be about 200 feet long
  • Wooden ramps tend to be very slippery when wet or snow covered
